What Is a Reefer Truck?

In short: A reefer is a refrigerated trailer that controls temperature to haul perishable or temperature-sensitive freight — food, produce, pharmaceuticals. Unlike a dry van, it actively heats or cools the cargo space.

Why Reefers Matter: Temperature-controlled freight fails if the cold chain breaks, so reefer capacity and reliability are critical for perishables.

Reefers in Cross-Border Shipping: A large share of Mexico–U.S. produce moves in reefers through border crossings, where delays threaten the cold chain.

Crown Xpress Transport does not currently offer refrigerated (reefer) transportation.

Crown believes in providing clear information about its transportation capabilities so customers can determine whether its services are the right fit for their shipping requirements.

If a shipment requires temperature-controlled transportation, customers should consider a carrier specifically equipped to handle refrigerated freight.
